The Scott Lee Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated in our first annual scholarship awards reception and fund raising event. The occasion marked an enjoyable and successful afternoon that provided an opportunity to honor and reflect upon the lives of Nicole Lynette Scott Lee and Milton Pericles Darden III, through the presentation of scholarships in their names.
This year's recipients were LaCreanna Young, a junior honor student at Howard University in Washington, DC, where she majors in Television Production and minors in Business Administration. Ms. Young, who received the Nicole Lynette Scott Lee Memorial Scholarship, aspires to a career in the television industry. In addition to tuition assistance, LaCreanna was also awarded an internship with J.C. Hayward, noon-day news anchor at WUSA9-TV. Similarly, the foundation presented the Milton Pericles Darden III Memorial Scholarship to Nikki Owens, a junior at Bowie State University in Maryland. Ms. Owens is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, and hopes to land a career in Public Relations or Marketing at a Fortune 500 company.
