BIOGRAPHY

Milton Pericles Darden III, age 42, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 5, 2000. He had been a resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia for eight years. Milton was born November 13, 1957 in Bridgeport, CT to the union of Hattie N. Thomas Darden and Milton P. Darden Jr. He was raised and received his early education in Port Chester, NY, where he graduated from Port Chester Senior High School. Upon receiving a football scholarship, Milton continued his formal education at Tarkio College in Kansas City, MO. He also attended the Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY, where he earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration.

At the time of his death, Milton was employed by Konica Business Technologies, Inc., a/k/a Konica Business Solutions USA, in Virginia Beach, where he excelled as a Senior Business Account Representative. Milton's dedication, enthusiasm, perseverance and outstanding salesmanship earned him high praise and several distinguished awards from the management at Konica. Among the numerous citations he received were the Order of the Gauntlet for Outstanding Sales Management as a Commercial Sales Representative, membership in the Konica Chairman's Club and Outstanding Performance as a member of the Chairman's Club presented in Cancun, Mexico. Milton also earned several "Salesperson of the Month/ Year" awards in recognition of his tenacious selling of Konica Business Machines. Milton loved his work and was committed to becoming the "best" that he could be.  He studied hard and collected many certificates of achievement for completing training in the diverse technical areas of Konica's products and services.

Milton's interests and other accomplishments included his active leadership and participation in the Junior Olympic Games of the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, where he represented Konica as one of the event's corporate sponsors.  He was a member of the Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce and served as the president of entrepreneurial venture reselling peripheral software.
